I don't think a company would have to have an office in a state to offer surveying services there. Just because a company is not located in the state they are offering services in doesn't mean they are a broker either. Granted, a "vast portfolio of contracted professional surveyors" does sound like a broker though.

The company I work for is located in an area commonly referred to in this part of the world as the "Tri-State Area". Our office is in Ohio, but we are just across the Ohio River from West Virginia and Kentucky. We have 7 PS's licensed in a number of states. We are not a "broker"; we do great work, have a flawless reputation and are probably the highest priced company around.

By the way, those high prices don't keep us from getting any work worth getting.

Yes, sounds like a broker ... It's hard to understand how adding a percentage to a local surveyor's contract for the "middle man" provides a lower cost.

What are those pictures on their website, Utah or Arizona? Never seen anything like that in Texas.

would it be wrong for us to spam their inbox by requesting quotes for surveys? perhaps someone here could setup a bot that would just send request after request until the company starts to lose money and finally gives up... i will learn how to write a bot for the right price... how hard can it really be?

It is a regulation that they have a firm license. They don't. Let us forward this to the board and let them "Read from the Book" to the owners of this company.

Michael Robert (owner) was under investigation by the Colorado BOR but the complaint was dropped due to the fact he is not a licensed surveyor. Three people whithin the company has been issued a cease a desist.

An offsite surveyor is under investigation for allowing his stamp to be used by others.

A solution

Better yet do a cut and paste of the Board's ruling and paste it in every block of the survey quote request form on the site. Should remind them of what they are supposed to do and let them know that surveyors all over the country know of their violation and object to their practices. 😛

What kind of living were you hoping to make contracting El.Certs from two states away ?

If you were going to contract out surveying services for cheap you'd need a rubber stamp and a crew to manipulate and abuse..right?

How does that really work with a "Survey Broker??" According to the new rules the Board is considering, don't you necessarily have to have a registered at every branch office ?
