The Colorado State Board must be cracking down.
Just recently a PLS who was late in depositing several survey plats (Colorado is a recording state) was hit hard. There was no mention of past violations in the BOR order, although there has been past actions by the BOR towards this LS
$5,000 Fine
Licensed placed on probation for 10 years
Must successfully complete an ethics class
All his work for 5 years must be monitored.
He must select & pay for a monitor among three selected by the BOR
Bi-Monthly he is submit a report to the monitor
The monitor is to meet at the surveyors’ place of business on a quarterly basis to review his survey practice.
The monitor is to file a report w/ the BOR and give opinion to compliance with Colorado rules, regulations and laws and that the surveyor is practicing and conforming to the generally accepted standards for land surveying.
The surveyor will cooperate and conform to requests of the monitor.
The monitor will be held harmless to civil liability.
The surveyor will bear the costs for the monitoring plan.
Early termination after 2 years if the surveyor is in compliance with the terms of the BOR order.
