It seems that Carlson 2011 has some kind of an embedded point data thing going on. In using the RW5 files, which should be just generic text being read by the program, if I edit a point number original point data is stuck somewhere in the background????
Also, it seems to change my point coordinates for no apparant reason that I can see.
Really frustrating.
Its easier to just merge the new field coords into the master file, but I don't like doing it that way.
Are you editing the point in the process raw data editor? If so, you need to re-process either re-running the adjustment or use process no adjust and then save to the .CRD file. Or
Are you double-clicking the point on the screen and making changes there? Are you using the edit points routine under the points menu? These processes only update the points in the .CRD file and not the .RW5 file.
Anytime I use an rw5 file, I open it and delete all the coordinates out of it. Any control coordinates I have, I import them into my drawing before I process the file.
If you have points in the drawing (or crd file) and in the rw5 file, the rw5 coordinates will override the points in the crd.
