Remember I posted about one firm that just can't find bench marks. They couldn't find this one because there was new pavement and curb, and the BM had been destroyed. I went by today and there is no new pavement or curb, and the bench mark is secure and obvious. I don't like to use much pink paint, but this situation called for it. It is especially easy to see if they would just get out of the stupid truck and, you know, look!
Well ... now they'll say they couldn't find the BM, only the BOM.
Go back out there and paint another "B" right next to the "M" and watch what happens.
There's only one reflector. Maybe that was throwing them off!
That's the BOMb!
The world is full of really stupid people
and you found a whole firm full of them.
Can you come and visit? I have some 150+ year old stones in the woods that I cannot find.
You could hire a real surveyor, Thadd! 🙂
guess where this one is from...
Free glass of Guiness to the first answer.
If only there was a real surveyor in this state. 😉
guess where this one is from...
Pike Market in Seattle.

Is that a Sea World Benchmark? I once ran a bench run in front of Sea World in Orlando for a Lidar project, but never thought to go inside the park to look for a benchmark.
The Bow Tie Surveyor
If it were a bomb they woulda been blown up. (a rephrasing of "if it were a snake it woulda bit ya"). 😉

you got it. right outside the Manta ride....
I wish Schonstedt made a stone detector......B-)
I wish neighbors would not build little stone walls with those neat stones found in the woods.
Well, if they did...
would they change the name to STONESCHEDT?
Jeez, I can't help myself.
