Recent post about cables. Western States Cabling was recommended. Hoping to get some cables that last. I just replaced a 6 year old cable for my Focus 10 robot. I suspect the new one will not last that long. My dealer recommended I buy 2 because they are so delicate and will fail ($220). I've been getting about one year out of my total station (Nikon) cables. The last one lasted about 6 months. This is ridiculous considering they cost around $100 a pop!

I think the after market cables are just junk. Probably made for $1 a piece in China

I was replacing my Leica cables yearly (the rover cable catches on branches when I force myself through the brush). I have not had to replace a Western cable. They are obviously heavy duty.

Not sure where you were getting your cables before, but Western prices are definitely competitive to those prices. They also service their own cables, so if you bust one they can fix it for a lot less than replacing.

Western states cables makes a very good product.

Not cheap, but still 30% of what Trimble charges and way beefier.
