Hi, I am using a Topcon OS total station with a Topcon FC 500 data collector with SurvCe 6. I constantly loose the bluetooth signal and have to reconnect. After I reconnect I get good communication for shots within 3 to 5 minutes but if I stop using the communication for much longer I loose the communication and have to reconnect. Is there a timeout setting somewhere beteeen the three (The total station, or the FC500 or the SurvCe) that I am missing?

If it was working well before, and suddenly stopped working as well, I'd point to software changes first, then depending on age and condition of equipment, battery life/transmitter parts dying.

Any type of dropping or impact event could have also damaged the device.

Good luck.

Make sure your robot and data collector are set to run continuously. Do not allow them to go in sleep mode. You can save some power by timing out the displays on both. I had the same problem with a Leica robot and SurvCe.?ÿ
