A Proton rocket launched from Kazakhstan veered off course somewhere over Siberia or China and crashed into the Pacific Northwest of Hawaii. The 3 onboard GLONASS M satellites were destroyed.

The launch of a single GLONASS K satellite is scheduled for December on a Soyuz rocket.

Drats! That would have completed their system. They probably have plenty more rockets but not sure if they would have any back up SV's. Pretty pricy things to have laying around in storage as backups.

To this date though their launches have been very successful and pretty much error free. We lost Challenger and lives. They only lost some expensive hardware.

Meaning Space Shuttle business. We're grounding our fleet, so the Ruskies have the taxi contract to shuttle our Astronauts to and from the Int'l Space Station.

Why? Because the newest one is 18 yrs old. The oldest is 26. Only 3 more flights, maximum.
