HWMBO has been going to a local auction house, mainly buying art on spec. I finally cleaned out a closet so a bunch of it could be removed from a hallway (they weren't hung up). Anyway, at the last one, he got me this one, "Washington, the surveyor's assistant" by Robert Nisbet. It appears to have been commissioned for Washington's bicentennial in 1932.
Nice!
Excellent! I suppose that's a rod man on yon cliff across the creek.
That's real nice.

Very cool piece.?ÿ Definitely belongs on a wall 🙂
Great find. I'd love to have that on my wall. Cheers.
@gschrock HWMBO reports that it was less than that.
Oh, now he says if there's interest, he'd be happy to sell it.?ÿ ????
It probably should go to an actual surveyor!?ÿ
Edited: I meant to post this in general chit-chat. I dunno what happened.
Very nice indeed. At least yours has been coloured (Looks better to me anyway ????)
Annex have this one too.
