Colleagues-

Can you assist me to understand what we are experiencing with our Allegro CX batteries please ?

We are getting inconsistent battery readings when we charge our Allegro CX.

Even when on a day long plug in, with the audible buzzing sound, our Allegro shows the power bar at about 20 % but both of the batteries, 3.6 V/NI-MH 4000 mAh read about 4.2 on the voltmeter.

Both batteries are relatively newish and both give similar results.

Have I messed up its volt reading brains some how ?

Also, is the Allegro ‘live’ all the time even when turned off (and not plugged in) and thus the battery is being constantly depleted ?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Derek

I have an MX and it has been reading 10% charge since 10:30 this am -
had to rush through the last staking because last time
I saw the 10% it died in about 20 mins.
I am trying to eliminate any memory.

Derek,

There were updates for many issues from Jumiper Support. You need to reasearch and install the needed patches. There were definitely some that solved power and battery display issues.

.... and yes the Allegro is always on... only has Sleep mode.

Quite a few CE devices had this "sleep feature." Unless you installed a CF card in a Panasonic Toughbook 01 for programs and storing data, users could lose both if the primary battery discharged completely. Small button battery was only for backup when changing primary batteries. When not in use, it needed to be connected to the charger/AC adapter. My recollection is this was not clearly stated in the operator's manual or not mentioned at all.

Aloha, Derek: This may be a silly question...is the charger working properly? If your batteries are newish then it could be the charger. Just thought...I was a bit shy until I saw your last post...:-D
