Getting ready to cross section some new pavement on Interstate 24 about a mile south of the Ohio River at Paducah. Unfortunately, this is looking west and that's sunset. Contract called for 50' cross sections to verify cross slopes in this 1/2 mile section. Lane closures only allowed between 8pm and 6 am, so had to shoot CL and outside ep while slow lane is closed for guardrail and curb work, then go back and catch inside ep when fast lane is closed for shoulder work. Already got both outside lanes, hopefully can get both inside lanes in 1 night later this week.

Also had to show up at 2:30 a few nights to mark temporary striping after milling so they could open back up by 6am, and marked it again after repaving. That's for the first 3 mile stretch in both directions beginning at the Ohio River. Night surveying in the middle of an active interstate, what more could a guy ask for?

Taken on iPhone, can't get it rotated.

Thanks Brad. It's a cool job. The building we are working in is almost 100 years old, and we are laying out column lines for interior layout

That's me on the instrument, and C Billingsley (Chris) took the picture.

I've always really enjoyed surveying, but having this little guy go with me makes it even better!

I was doing an as-built having to do with ADA compliance at a shopping complex. The owner wanted a grade on the basement floor, so we set up where we could see through the one little window. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and flipped on the light. I'm not sure who was more surprised.

A suggestion

I know you run this and it's your show, but ....

I think you should compile the pictures actually used during the month of May and for the May photo, we vote on those.

Some of these pictures don't ring a bell at all and are probably submitted here for the first time. These should be June pictures.

Now, that's a winner

Bet she made for a great deal of entertainment.

Had a similar set up once, through a bathroom window. Didn't find anything that interesting when I turned on the light.
