From time to time a yellow "x" will appear on the plat. It cannot be erased. Simple solution is to "Regen All" after scrolling off to a far corner, then scroll back to work area. Usually the "x" will be quite a distance from the work area. Other times it is very close or still somewhere within the work area. It can takes repeated efforts at the regen to get it out of the view. Sometimes the "x" grows considerably in size. Once in a great while it won't be an "x" but a weird spiderweb type symbol.
Anyone else have this issue? How do I eliminate this problem?
HC,

Can't find that anywhere. The x is like four in one in that there are four parallel lines crossing four parallel lines. Annoying. This is AutoCAD 2004 so it is probably different from what you are using.
Try setting Blipmode to "off".
It is already off. Still baffled.
Geographic location didn't show up until 2007. They were getting ready for easier 3D modeling, and easier sunlighting. They needed a way to "set" the location of the model to easily use a bunch of solar lighting algorithms.
I'm thinking this yellow X is a defect in the underlying drawing database. Maybe a good ole fashion audit, then a -PURGE [all] will find the culprit.
HC - I have seen some models that have "lighting" in them show the "lighting source" as a glyph which represents the parametric photons... seriously. 😐
BUT - none of that fancy lighting stuff appeared until 2008 +. And this crap sometimes shows up if you have XREFed in a 3D model from another designer
Your comment of "spider web" got me thinking about it.
Long and short of it... I'm baffled, seeing as though you are in AutoCAD 2004.
If you google Autocad Yellow X you will find that others have encountered this problem, but that no definitive fix has been found and acknowledged. Among the suggestions is checking that OTRACK is turned off. Whatever that is.
