Today has not been a good day so far, I needed to process some GPS data and try tried to boot my laptop that has the Leica LGO software on it that I normally use that has a parallel port for the hardware lock but the system battery was dead, so I tried to boot an older computer that has a parallel port on it that is running Windows 2000 and the password that I remember is not working. If I could find my software disks I would install on another computer that has a port for the hardware lock. My question is, how can I bypass the password for Windows 2000? TIA
I've never had to do this, but maybe this little goodie will do the trick: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

Thanks for your quick response, as it turns out it is not always the obvious. The problem was not my memory but the keyboard on the old computer had a bad e key and was not entering the password correctly. After I changed the keyboard, my old password worked, but I have booked marked the site for future use, because of my age that could be sooner than later.
Well I'm glad you were at least able to get it figured out. If nothing else, it was a great excuse to get a new keyboard. 🙂
