I am trying to connect my topcon hiper lite to computer running windows 7 with a USB cable when I plug cable in nothing happens cable is brand new so it should work is there a driver I need to load to connect to topcon receiver utility or pcdu I know there is a driver for pcdu for windows xp but nothing for windows 7 that I know of? Any suggestions
I'm sure there is a way.
You probably don't want to hear this, but we keep an XP tower over in the corner for nothing but link-ups with the Topcons. I tried several things early on with Vista and then W7 and could get it to work one day and the next, no dice. It was super-frustrating.
Keep an XP in the corner. 😉
I had the same issues as Paden. I eventually quit using the cable and added bluetooth to the computer. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/rocketfish-micro-bluetooth-usb-adapter/8820886.p?id=1207351932175&skuId=8820886 I have had zero issues in 3 yrs.
Yes, you need to download the USB driver from Topcon website.
Is your Windows 7 OS 32x or 64x? You will need to know in order to get the correct driver.
I'd use the USB for static downloads. It's about 20x faster than bluetooth and Serial cable.
Could you help find these drivers? We have an old XP machine for downloads as I cannot find win7 USB drivers for hipers.
PCCDU has USB drivers with a build date of 2005.
It's a 32 where on the website do you fund these drivers
I can't find it there site. Topcon now requires a login and the new GPS does NOT use a USB at all.
But I do have the drivers. Send me an email and I will forward the drivers to you.
