I would like to "squeeze" or "thin" my multiline text from the default setting to about 80% ~ 90% of default. I can do it on my single line/regular text, but not multiline. It's just not an option in the properties. Is there any other setting I can toggle?

Any and all help is appreciated.

I am using Carlson 2010 w/icad.

Thanks!!

Carl

It works on 2012iCAD... have you tried changing it in the layers explore text styles tab? change it to 0.8

That worked like a charm. Not happy that all the "blocks" have to be at the same setting, but it's MUCH better than it was.

THANK YOU!!

If you set up your text style before hand, it will work also.

Type STYLE and set your width there, say .8 or .9

Now when you issue the MTEXT command, it will use the current style at the width you specified.

In Carlson, there is a toolbar for change txt size. I use it all the time on mtext objects.

I don't think on the older icad versions. I liked it in the properties section of the Carlson 04/07 / acad.

I got it fixed for the moment... or for what I needed

I used to work with a CAD wizard who taught me all kinds of weird stuff. I have my standard text widths set to scale down by 0.7 by modifying the Leroy.stp file under the Data/Setup/ folders. But I use this for all text, I understand you just want to do it this one time for MTEXT.

Not sure if that would work for everyone since I'm using the standard fonts and not a custom creation.

I just needed it a little more narrow than standard. I use the CG_FIXED WIDTH (I think) and I just needed a little less blocky. Thank you though.
