Running SurveyPro 5.6.4 and 6.6.4.9 on a couple Rangers. Dont think the versions matter for my problem.

Loaded new geoid files *.ggf on thumb drive. Drag/drop those files to folder 'geodata' on Rangers.(created that folder on the Ranger7-did not exist)

Restart Survey Pro

Choose geoid file (Survey>Projection>SelectGeoid) The file comes up in a list (along w/ all the worlds geoid models) but displays 'no ggf files for this model'

Q: is there another folder, besides c:/geodata (on R7) or MyDevices:/geodata (on R3), where these files reside?

Q: Is it necessary to rename the original file G12BHW.ggf to GEOID12B (Hawaii) as displayed in SurveyPro dialog box?

?ÿ

I will add SpectraPrecision has some pretty lame solutions to this, such as: "if their are no ggf files for this model the control will display "there are no files for this geoid"

So I come this RPLS fountain of knowledge.

In my Ranger 3 it is under My Devices/Geodata and the file is named g18us.ggf for Geoid 18 (conus).

It looks like you are doing everything right, at least for the 3 I can't comment on the 7. When all else fails call your local Trimble sales guy, best networking I ever did was getting on his good side, he helps a ton.

Good luck.
