I'm trying to stake a line offset from a line. SurvCE version 2.05. "Stake Offset" in the manual seems to be doing this in the context of an alignment, not just a plain old line See here:
I know I can probably stake two points offset from a line by the same amount, then stake the line between the points, but there must be an easier way, isn't there? TIA.

Without an alignment, you can define the line by two points (those being the endpoints). It will also let you project the line beyond the ends (using negative stationing or going beyond the station of the end point). This is under stake line. Then you just enter the offset you want from the line.
