TopSurv had a function where if you were shooting a series of shots repetitively in a pattern it would automatically provide the descriptions in order. For instance: BC, TC, SW, SW, TC, BC, etc.

Anybody know of a similar function in SurvCE?

One way to do this would be:

From the File tab in SurvCE, tap #5 - Feature Code Library.
Tap the Special Codes button.
Tap the "Settings" button in the Title Bar area next to "Green Check."
Enable the Auto-Detect Code Pattern toggle.

Another approach might be to create an X3 (or X5) code designated for 3-line (or 5-line) section shots for use in the field and use this code repetitively for each shot on your pattern. In Carlson Survey back in the office, you'd designate the X3 (or X5) code to make use of the "Use Code Sequence" toggle.

Thank you. The Auto-detect code pattern was exactly what I was looking for.

That's the tough thing about changing software in the office or the field. I've been running SurvCE for two years and I still find new and better ways to do things daily. I just figured out yesterday that to do a true robotic set that you have to go to the set collection routine. I assumed that since the settings are with the rest of the side shot settings that it was just a quirk with my instrument that it would only do face1/face2 on the back sight or fore sight but not a true BSF1/FSF1/FSF2/BSF2 set.
