I am demoing the Carlson 2014 w/Intellicad. It is growing on me.

Where do I change the units for the area display? I have looked everywhere I can think of. I am creating a small lot out of a larger parcel, and I have my linework there, and I am using the area by interior point, and it will only display the areage to one decimal place.

Thanks in advance

Area/layout - Area defaults - under the Label and field settings - highlight on acres in right side then edit - precision in on the right side.

I am lurking Jimmy. Still using C2011 with A2007 embedded.

Tried ICAD a couple years ago. Watching your experience with interest.

I dislike change. I hope my current setup keeps working fine for another 10 to 20 years.

Brad,

I dislike change as well.

I am working with drawings from engineers and other clients on a regular basis, and the compatibility is becoming an issue at times. TruView works okay, but sometimes it is still a pain.

I really like my Carlson 2008 Standalone with embedded AutoCad. I can work 10 times faster with that software. I am looking at having to upgrade my desktop and laptop, and figured it would be a good time upgrade the software as well.

The Intellicad demo is okay. I have not used it a whole lot, mainly because I have been under the gun to get stuff out the door. I have the demo installed on my laptop, and while it runs pretty darn good wih the 2008 version, I can see some video card issues, and maybe the laptop is a little undersized for the newer software.

I have seen some differences between the software, but nothing major at this point. The main thing I don't like is the message that pops up when I open a drawing created by Intellicad in Autocad.

So far, it would be a workable solution for my firm. I am not a power user, though. Most of my work is small boundaries, design topos, construction layout, etc.. I don't use a lot of aerial images, or work with really large drawings.

I hope this helps.

Jimmy
