I have a TDS Recon 400 running Windows CE .NET Version 4.10 (build 908) The firmware on it is 4.1.9

When I purchased it, the seller didn't the Socket Bluetooth Card.
I have used it for sometime with a typical serial cable connection to the gun. Recently, I obtained a brand new (old Stock) socket Bluetooth card.
(model BL4535-634)

Installed in the Compact flash slot and ... nothing. When I click the existing icon on the desktop it gives me an error that BtDevWin or one of its components cannot be found.

I figured the program was corrupt and I searched for a download to reinstall. I found this really helpful instruction manual through tdsway.com ( http://www.tdsway.com/binaries/tdsreconseries/documents/Socket_Bluetooth_an
d_Recon_V1.0.pdf) . Only problem is the link to the recon Bluetooth executable.

I tried a couple of driver downloads from Socket, but found documentation that their drivers don't typically support the Windows CE .net frame work and that the device supplier typically supplied the needed drivers.

So, my question. am I out of luck or does anyone out there still have the driver install software that could help me out?

I have contacted Trimble and they no longer have this in the their archive. I have contacted socket and they indicated that it would need to come from trimble since it is on the CE.net framework.

Thoughts, advice, link or download?? This isn't a daily user, but it would be nice to ditch the cord.

Thanks,

Andy

Be sure to remove the card from the Recon while installing the driver.

That file is for windows CE, not windows CE.net I think from what Google tells me and the fact it didn't work. I downloaded joined up through active sync as required and installed without the card installed.

Any one else have some magic?

Ohio andy Could you get the driver for your TDS Recon? I have the same problem now in 2020 with a Juniper Archer data collector.

@topo1 I am also looking for a driver, I recently picked up a Recon 400 with Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.0 (build 14053). Any help would be great. Did you ever get your bluetooth to work?
