Hi,

I have not had luck with SurCE 4 controlling the Trimble R8 model 3.

Carlson mentions old firmware required, but no details.

Has anyone successfully worked with the R8?

Regards,

Matt

The newer Trimble GPS units have a random code generator, which requires a Trimble DC. I discovered this the hard way as my SurvCE would not talk to my R8-3. It does talk to my R8-2

SurvCE with Trimble R8M3?

Thanks for the info but wow that is that a pain.

I am better off to sell the M3 for an M2..

This "Trimble" business plan of exclusivity isn't helping there stock price either..

another option is pick up a used trimble d/c...i agree its a bad thing but it seems we are heading more and more to proprietary software.

Trimble is funny that way, we can talk to you, but you can't talk to us.

Try seeing what all DC options you have for running the Leica ATX1230+ GNSS!

SurvCE with Trimble R8M3?

I do have a TSC3 with latest access and the 2.4GHz radio but I was looking to streamline the gear. Looks like I will be selling the TSC3 and R8M3,

Cheers
