Any of you know how to setup C3D so it will set points on a pipe network? I can link an alignment to a profile for setting points at finish grade elevation, but can't seem to figure it out for a pipe network.

My situation is that I have waterlines/stormlines/etc. (alignments and profiles) created in Civil 3d by our engineering department that were generated by pipe networks.

Creating a new profile on top of the pipe network is a pain because I can't pick the intersection point of the pipes (I think its because the z values are different). Maybe there is a faster way that I don't know about?

I'm sure I can't be the only one that wants to do this, so please let me know how you figured it out.

Thanks!

Paul

Create a feature line from the alignment and the use the automatic point creation routine to set points along the feature line.
