In Carlson 2007 stand alone, how do you make a fence line with x's even, if the fence has a lot of odd angle points?

TIA

Edit the polyline and change the "Ltype Gen" setting to ON. 🙂

That's actually an AutoCad setting.

Sorry Radar, but is that one of the Smith Brothers in your avatar?

That is General Jack Casement, head of the 'Rust Eaters'. He ran the Union Pacific construction crew during the building of "The Road". In one day they they laid 16 miles of track, fast as a man walking.

i forget, does the standalone have the PEDIT function?
PEDIT
L
ON
(I do not use menus too often, so I don't know where it would be)

or select the 2dp, properties, linetype generation -> ON

i wonder if we should ask carlson to change the default 2dp to have LT Gen set to on, it's rare for me to have one off...

That's it! Well, pretty close anyway. In the properties box, I changed the linetype generation to: enabled.

Thanks Wendell!

how bout another Carlson/ACAD ?

In Carlson/Autocad 2009,

Everytime I try to type a date like 1/22/2012,

the text editor changes it to a fraction

How do I disable it?

I'd rather be walking than laying track:-)

Seriously, must be a relative, huh?

Perry, check for the "stacking & auto-stacking" options.

There is one of those "don't show this again " dialogue boxes, that you can get to by using the text editor, selecting the text, and right clicking, if you have selected the box to not show again. It all depends, as usual.

In 2007, it lets you have a choice, as to whether you want to or not.

Must've thought you didn't need that, in 2009.....

No problem. I pulled that purely from memory, so I'm glad it was that close. 🙂

If you set "plinegen" and "plinetype" to your preferences in your *.dwt file, you won't have to do it again. All will be set when you create new drawings with that *.dwt template.

Radar, I'm working on this too. PLEASE take me through all the steps, that you took, so I can fix this too.

If I draw a fence, or a dashed line, that has alot of close angle pts, well, no dash, and no fence. I want to scale the dash on the OVERALL line, not based on the little segments.

Thnks!

No problem Nate!

I always have the properties box open and docked on the side. So when I highlight the line all the properties show up there. I pick the box that says Linetype Generation and choose enabled.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Did anyone watch "Hell on Wheels" on AMC?

Good series about the town that followed the end of the track. Kind of graphic and not for the squeamish.
