I foolishly edited mine manually and now it won't load. (didn't keep a backup, oops)
If anyone can attach a company.def file ideally form the latest version 8.2.3 that would be great. (may need to zip it for uploading)
it's located in the folder C:ProgramDataMicroSurveyStarNetV8

You will have to remove the ".txt" from the filename. ".def" is not an allowed extension for uploading here. Good luck!
