Is anyone using Micro Survey on an android tablet? ?ÿHow it it working out?
I have downloaded the android app from MicroSurvey but have never tried it. We use Field Genius at the office and it has been everything we need. I hope all the features in the Win CE version are in android. Have you tried it yet? I'm curious too. ?????ÿ
It is defiantly Beta right now, locks up and crashes,?ÿ they are making what seems quick headway lots of releases and adding features. It navigates like the windows version but has less features.

I'm beginning to think everything on Android crashes all the time. I was "forced" into buying an iPhone and have never in 18 months had an app crash. Since having the iPhone I've also obtained an iWatch, and a pair of ipods. (They all work together perfectly)
But that's all ios and I don't think they have any intense survey apps for ios. It seems Android in adding them every day.

I am an IOS user mostly. I got an Android tablet with a phone upgrade but I have moved and don't know where it is right now. I am more curious about the technology. I has thinking it might be good for quick office computations.
I tested Field Genius a month ago with my Samsung S9.?ÿ Android based field software is the apparent future, but I think surveying software is going to run best on a dedicated rugged Android device with ample battery. The battery time on my S9 was far too little to run Field Genius, particularly in cold. I got about an hour before my phone was down to about 25%.?ÿ
The other big issue was the inability to add a note to the point I was collecting. So while locating wetland flags, I could not add a note the flag number. Apparently missing on this early version, but supposedly soon to be added.?ÿ
I've tried out other software, EGStar and Survey Master. They're both pretty good, but I could not get EGStar to use English units, nor able to apply geoid corrections. I also had to create my own state's transformations which is tedious if not applied correctly (make sure you are using the correct parameters in either decimal degrees, or DMS, etc...).?ÿ Survey Master does not offer US Survey foot. So while they're both free, you will need to use excel or similar app to get appropriate unit coordinates.?ÿ
I DO like the fact that the new software is run on devices that are current and far more powerful than 10+ year old single core processors and offer many more features and ability to export data in many formats for multiple uses.?ÿ
I'd like to know if anyone else has had any success with the above or other apps?
