I'm basically retired from doing field work. I work for a state dot at 67 years old. I'm in good shape and can still survey. I just don't have a need to. An old friend asked me to locate some corners on a lot he just bought, so I started to charge batteries. Topcon batteries charged up right away. Had my TDS NOMAD charging and noticed the screen was backed lit. Looked at it and saw,

Boot loader U0710010

Error: no boot partition found.

Windows CE not loaded

It won't respond to the power key. Took the battery and the sims card out, but returned to the same screen. Not sure what to think about it. Bumbs me out. Is it DOA?

You could try flashing the firmware if you have a little tech know-how. That would reset it to factory conditions and you would lose all software. You'd then need to re-install the software and enter your registration keys. The firmware can be found here https://www.trimble.com/globalTRLTAB.aspx?nav=Collection-62864

EDIT: I should also add that it could be a hardware issue and flashing the firmware wouldn't work in that case.

Talked to Nick at Titan Elite, Trimble Repair. He said send it on in and they'll try to flash the operating system back in. No charge. Will loose the software thou. The old system was Windows CE. That becomes a problem because Trimble has move on to Windows Mobile. If they flash a newer operating system I could upgrade to a newer version of Survey Pro. Need to find all my paper work. Got my fingers crossed.
