I plot 8.5 x 14 plats.
I use tray 2 on an HP L7780 and have for years.
Today, I can't get Carlson to print from tray 2. No setting changes on my end, it just stated printing to tray 1 which is letter size.
I've tried everything I can think of to set to tray 2.
Pulled up a plat from last week that printed on tray 2 and IT went to tray 1.
Other programs are accessing tray 2 with no issues.

try checking the printer settings in the windows printer settings, independent from Carlson. I had this trouble with our HP1050C. I had to keep manually changing to D size paper. Once I changed it in the default windows settings, the changes stayed.

I have exactly the same printer (and love it) and had the same issue for a while a year ago. Had to set the default in windows to tray 2. Obviously, this meant I had to switch it back most every time I printed something in word or adobe, but it got me going. Then I could use the default 7780 printer that shows up in the menu when plotting in Carlson.
Or you can plot to pdf
Or you can plat to xps
I know work-arounds should have gone the way of Windows 3.1

My problem disappeared just as mysteriously as it appeared, unless it went away when I switched to Windows 10.
