What command or program should I use to copy files across my network (local) from one computer to the other?
most of the files have been copied so I want to copy only new files or files that are newer ?
and of course I don't want a prompt asking for each file
one computer is running win 7 the new one win 10

Assuming you have a network connection between the two computers (with visible, shared "From" and "To" directories, the asiest way I can think of is to open Windows file manager, go to the "From" directory, and sort the contents by date, then drag a box around all the files down to a certain date, and then drag them across to the "To" window.

If you do the dragging and dropping in Windows 10, you can actually do better by clicking the little arrow next to the date column...that brings a dropdown with a bunch of pre-selected durations ("Yesterday", "A long time ago", etc. or a range of dates. Then select files as above, or "select all", if the date range you choose is exactly what you want moved.
Make sense?

I would get FileZilla and use that. You can take an entire directory and copy only the files that are newer or larger than the files that exist at the destination.

Don't need know any fancy software. You can use the old DOS command xcopy in a batch file.

XCOPY source [destination]
/D:m-d-y Copies files changed on or after the specified date.
