I have a TDS ranger with Survey Pro 4.7. When I begin to enter a description, words start to appear as I enter the description, some sort of dictionary. I have no feature code file or descriptor list file. I am creating the codes on the fly and these words are not descriptions I have previously entered. I would like to turn off, it is bit annoying.

I'd look in the descriptor settings for a box that is checked and is called something along the lines of "AutoComplete".

All I see checked is
Load Description List from Job File
Add New Descriptions to Description List
Show Description List Automatically

I totally agree. It's pretty annoying, especially when I'm typing in something quick, and the suggestions get in the way and slow me down.

I have looked all over on-line and still can't figure out how to shut this off. I've had to re-type description keys many times because the words cover my codes.

Holy crap, I found it! It's a Ranger setting, not a survey pro setting. I found it in Start > Settings > Personal > Input > Word Completion and check off "Suggest words when entering text"

Hope this helps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I was getting real tired of typing my code for "edge of gutter" ,(EG), and getting "egregious" and "Egypt" to pop up on the screen.

Who thought of those options? Egypt???
