I got rid of FEMA's advertising banner right in the middle of the flood plain image, but now a gray square with a big red X has shown up. How do I get rid of that X?

Could you take a screenshot of it? I'm able to toggle the FEMA overview block on and off inside google earth.

The red x image usually means that a referenced image file couldn't be found, as would happen when someone renames it, moves it to another folder, or deletes it.?ÿ To turn an image off, right-click on it to bring up its properties box, which will put the focus in the Places sidebar on the image,. Then just uncheck the image name in the sidebar, and it will disappear from the main screen.
