Nitro Pro does.

Not saying that anyone should upgrade, just saying that if they have, there may tools available that they are unaware of. 🙂

After testing both Fox-it and Nitro I bought Foxit. It's layout seemed a little more like the Acrobat I was used to. Now that I've had it for a bit longer I might say that it can be a little slow with large files. But it seems to work really well overall. I'm happy with it.

I really like your surveying services, EXCEPT for the cost, so I am looking elsewhere, do you know if Cheap Surveys down the street does a good job?

Sorry, just couldn't resist, if you are happy with the granddaddy of PDF softwares, then I think it is worth the price.

I would have, and have at other times. But when the alternative is 1/3 the price and is comparable in quality... ...

Thanks for the recommendation Mark. I just tried Fox-It for the first time and like it. I've been using CutePDF Pro, but it's just got too many issues.

The problem is how or what grandaddy has become as he gets older.
Some grandaddy's get more loveable in old age, others not so.
Looking at the changes that one has made in its lineup of programs is one reason I steered away from them.
I was an AI user for years and with Avenza plug in it was a very useful program.

My experience with Bluebeam which is less than Adobe but more than Nitro, Foxit etc is only first rate.

I have tried a few alternatives, never quite the same, maybe Foxit wasn't one of them, my older version of Acrobat pro still serves my needs so until it doesn't I will carry on.

I use Foxit. There was a previous thread on here a few years ago that discussed PDF software, and someone recommended Foxit. I was currently using a freeware/shareware software called PDF995, and it was working OK as a PDF printer. The freeware version kept popping up the website every time you hit the print button. If I paid $9.95, it would have stopped that.

Foxit does well for me. I created a signature file that is password protected as well as my seal. These I can insert onto the final PDF plat file and send out in an e-mail as an attachment. Foxit works as a virtual printer and does what I need in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. It has the ability to create one PDF file from many different sources. I tried using Adobe, but the software was just not intuitive or easy to learn. The menus were skimpy and I could not easily find where I needed to go to do what I needed done. Foxit was easy to learn. The optical character recognition part works well, too, depending on your source file. It struggles with old dot matrix coordinate printouts as will any OCR program. I have told a few others about Foxit. They tried and loved it.

I use CutePDF printer for printing/exporting to pdf. I use PDF exchange viewer from trackersoftware for general viewing, markups, and measuring. Between those two there's very little that can't be done. I actually prefer the exchange viewer over regular adobe.

After 7 months with Fox-it. Works just fine with small files. Say up to about 50 pages. But it does not handle larger files well at all.?ÿ As in the size that a set of construction plans might be.?ÿ Very slow, crashes often with larger files.?ÿ ?ÿ
