Not too long ago, but pre-NEWRPLS, there was a discussion regarding building a new PC/workstation. I've tried to find it with the search feature here, but no joy. Now, I'm just about to pull the trigger on $1500 in parts, and I'd like to review that discussion before I commit. Anyone?

Thanks! SS

I remember that post too and can't find it.

Just curious why you thought of building one instead of a Dell ?

Got burned by Dell once, so not a fan. Or Hp, either.

My current PC, that I assembled in 2011, has been running 99.99% constantly for the last 12 years without a glitch. Now it's getting a bit long in the tooth, freezes frequently, and won't run WIn11.

Oh WOW. I have had the opposite experience.

There are companies that build systems for specific use and or software.

Puget Sound is one that is well respected.

I searched for "PC build" in the forum search bar and got this: https://staging.rpls.com/forums/search/pc+build/

It's a few lines down the list.
