I need an AutoCAD file converted. I use Terramodel and for some reason I can not import this particular file. Is there anyone that would be willing to save it down to 2000 or import it into Terramodel for me. My email is in my profile.

Thanks so much for the help and have a great day!

Charlie

You don't have your email set to be visible. Send it to me at stephen at wardlandsurveying dot com and remind me what version of AutoCAD you need it saved back to.

I use Terramodel daily and have had to come up with different ways to import files as Terramodel is getting further outdated. Sometimes it is civil 3d objects it won't recognize and others it fails for no reason I can explain. I have had to open a drawing in autocad, copy the linework, open a new template drawing and paste the linework in and voila, for no other reason than being in a fresh dwg it will import. I don't think it is going to get any easier....

Steve, this particular file was giving me fits. I really enjoy Terramodel but I am making the switch to C3D. I am not looking forward to learning a new CAD software! I'm sure it will be cruel and unusual punishment:-(

I think you will find the transition from Terramodel to Carlson Survey easier and much more economical. With Carlson Survey w/embedded AutoCad you will be able to do everything you do now and the learning curve ir relatively flat. But if you want to spend 6 to 8 grand for Civil 3D, that's your choice.
