obtain a USB card reader attachment for a an ATA flash card (PC Card)that is the data card for a Leica 1100? My new laptop does not have a card reader and am currently left to using my old laptop to transfer data.

That said I am fortunate to have a numerical key board on this laptop.

RADU:

Try this outfit http://www.amtron.com/sram.htm#pretec

It looks like the OmniDrives are the way to go but they are rather expensive.

I have the same instrument and I am working on my last laptop with a card slot so I guess I will have to check out one of these drives too. Let me know how you make out.

Very hard to find a simple reader for full size cards (maybe impossible), fairly good availability of USB readers for CF cards, use an adapter with the card while in the instrument and then just plug the CF card into the USB reader.

I have one of the Omni readers also, expensive, BUT a very good product, that is the only way I have found to read the old SRAM cards from my TCA 1100, it will also read flash cards too, so is really all you need since it will read both full size cards AND CF cards with an inexpensive adapter.

Addonics AEPUDDU - US$55.00 list

Looks like the Addonics AEPUDDU is still being manufactured and is available from quite a few vendors (including some in Australia) at a pretty reasonable price.

The USB 2.0 interface is standard, but it even has an eSATA option if that is your preference.
