Is there any way to recover a corrupted Survey Pro .survey file? I was working fine yesterday, this morning it won't open. I tried converting it with Spectra Precision's Style Sheet Converter but the program just locks up. This is version 5.0.1. Is the data completely lost? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Can you open the raw file and save as a new job?
Note: If you are working on a localization or "one point survey" set up you might lose your geodetic data when you do this.
Good Luck
Is it the file with the .survey extension? If so we always export them as a .job file and a .raw file. Problem is if you might need to open it for this to happen.
If tried to open the .survey files and don't know of any software that works with it. If you try to open it in note pad or something like that it just looks like a scramble mess.
That's the problem, there's only one file, the .survey, and we can't open it to export a different format. The only desktop software we have that can open .survey files can't open it either.
If you want to e-mail it to me, I can try and open it and see if it works on my data collector. My e-mail should show up for you. I will only be here another 50 minutes though.
If it created a .support file copy it to computer and change the .support to .survey soho ups work after that I have done this a few times.
I have had the same problem with one of our new rangers with the same survey pro. I had the crew hard reset the collector and that seems to have fixed it. This Spectra/Trimble file format is very weak and buggy...never had this problem with the job-raw combo.
