Surface -> Triangulation Surface Manager -> Add Point
Great, but when I add a point it creates a void triangle and the contour breaks. Any ideas?
Which version and build of Carlson are you using? I couldn't replicate the behavior here. If you'd care to send me your TIN file and the X,Y and Z values of the point you're looking to add to your TIN, I'll be happy to take a look. If you could also send me your TRI settings file (e.g. via Triangulate & Contour -- Save As), that would help me try to replicate what you have established. Feel free to send me the data at lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom.
It's one of two things. Either you are adding a bad Z value on the point or you have not added enough points in that area to form proper triangles. Check you tin settings for how far out the software will hunt for the points also.
I saw that happening a few versions ago. It's fixed now.
I'm running Carlson 2013.
I have never had much luck adding or deleting points from a Carlson surface. I would get voids in the surface like you are talking about. I have just learned to get it right the first time or redo. Haven't tried it recently though.
