I have a drawing that will not print in monochrome. It only plots in color. I can open other drawings and the monochrome palette works but not in this drawing only.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Thad

Sounds like the drawing was created to use color dependent plot styles. There may be an easier way, but I've always had to create a new drawing using named plots styles then copy everything into the new drawing.

Two suggestions come to mind:

1. Check to see what build of Carlson you have installed to your computer. Presuming you have Carlson 2013, your build should be something like 130416 (or later) which is available via Help -- About Carlson. If your build date number is smaller than this, you could download and install a patch to get you to the current version by visiting http://www.carlsonsw.com/support/software-downloads/?product=Carlson .

2. Not knowing what you're trying to print out (e.g. a layout vs. the model), check to see if your plotting parameters resemble the following:

If neither of these suggestions address the problem, feel free to send the DWG to my attention (lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom) and I'll be happy to take a look at it.

When I have have the final drawing, I will copy that and put it somewhere outside of the points and working area.

Then I change the properties of that copy to place everything in the same layer and change the color of everything in that layer to either to black or white depending upon my background.

Changing of the layer color will be universal for the entire copy.

That makes all prints of the copy B&W.

Downside is if the color chart is used for changes line in weights you will need to make revision on each affected line by either offset or array or polyline width to be able to plot the different width of lines.

😉

Thanks. It was a radial setting for the lineweights. I played around and found it.
