I am going to begin trying to use the Carlson Survey --> Surface --> Quick Profile feature for the first time this weekend on this wetlands as-built project. Any tips?

Brad,

First of all, make sure your TIN model is at alevation on all points. When you pick the line to profile, make sure you drew it as a 3Dpoly and snapped to the nodes. Were there any break points and break lines collected? If so, make sure the break lines are 3Dpoly's as well.

I usually don't use the Quick Profile routine. I usually create a .pro file along with a reference or centerline file (.cl) When you get to the grid portion of the profile, make sure your lowest elevation is of the same datum and not 0.00. I usually pick something 5' below the lowest elevation of that profile line. I like room for notes.

I assume your cutting transects across the wetlands based on what I saw on your screen pic.

Email me if you have any questions. My email address is good.

Bob
