Every year I go thru this. Install the latest 2021 version and certain settings are missing. Really, I wonder why I even subscribe the annual maintenance expense when it just causes problems.

1) have to reset the Intellicad Mtext editor to the old type w/?ÿ dialog box, instead of the new type that uses the ribbon.

2) turn off that damn object select popup. I can see what object is selected by the grips. Don't need to go thru another selection process.

During the installation of the newer versions (I believe Carlson 2020 and later) is a Settings Migration Wizard which permits the migration of settings from a previous version/installation of Carlson into the current version. Complementing this is the underlying System Variable Editor which permits the review/editing/migration of CAD settings as well.

The Settings Migration Wizard should provide ultimate flexibility in terms of what is (and is not) migrated from version to version.

I hope this information helps.

Thanks for that Ladd, I just made the jump to 2021 and I need to go back and look at that.?ÿ I'm just happy that Intellicad finally got the message and quit creating a blank drawing every time I open it.

We used the migration wizard to retain settings. Still reverted to ribbon style mtext editor. One of your cohorts helped me:

From command line type

Mtexted

at options?ÿ type

oldeditor

I tried the jump to 2021. ?ÿDecided to fall back to 2016. ?ÿI think it might have been that mtext issue for the most part...oh well, maybe I will try again in 2033...?
