Aloha,
I searched the help file multiple times but I have no luck finding it.
I did find the list of commands for IntelliCad but none for Carlson Survey commands.

Any thoughts where I can find this list of commands?

Thank you so much!

Hi yswami,

When you post this late at night you only get "bottom feeders" like me ;-). Anyway, in answer to your question: Right click on any of the regular text headings across the top of your drawing space (File Edit Draw Inquiry ...) and they all give you the same drop down list of what Carlson does. If you go way to the very bottom of the list (I had to click a down arrow to get clear to the bottom) you will see "Toolbars." Click this and you can choose "command icon" toolbars for most every
Carlson function. When you choose a toolbar it will come onto your screen and also leave a check mark on the drop down list so you know which ones you have chosen.
There are also Quick Keys which are similar to the intellicad alias where you just type a few letters and execute the command. I printed out a list of them but can't remember how I did that.
If you haven't already, you can go to this link:
http://update.carlsonsw.com/manuals/
and choose either Carlson2015.pdf or Carlson2014.pdf and download the entire manual in PDF format. On page 16 and page 55 of the 2014 manual it deals with Carlson commands in general and of course the rest of the manual will explain each individually in detail.

I am learning intellicad myself (long time Carlson 2006 embedded user) so I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Maybe you'll get some better information tomorrow.

Two sources of information:

1. On-line Documentation is available at http://files.carlsonsw.com/mirror/manuals/Carlson_2015/ (there is a link to this URL at http://www.carlsonsw.com/support/manuals/ ), and/or,
2. Issue the Customize command and navigate to the Menus tab. The various commands can be browsed and the key-in equivalent for each command will typically be prefixed by the standard CAD escape sequence of either ^c^c or ^c^c^c.

I hope this information helps.

Aloha, Coady:
What were you doing staying up so late?;-)

Thanks for the pointers. I was able to locate the "Toolbar" I can see there a a lot of stuff can be added. It helps. I had previously downloaded the 2015 manual. It is there (and on the online help) I can't locate the list of Carlson commands. The "General Commands" in Chapter 2 of the manual is useful and I've been using it.

I found the Quickeys. See the attached image--this is the one? But I think it is too early for me to use it. It is too encrypted for novice like me at this time--without the description. Maybe in couple weeks I'll wrap my brain around it.

Overall I am making good progress compared to the first day I downloaded the demo. Planning to buy Rick's Practical Guide to Carslon Survey; however, the 2015 version apparently will be available around late Sept. or early Oct.

Thank you so much Coady!

Aloha, Ladd:
Thank you for responding. Getting a reply from the source it self made feel special! 🙂

I have been using both online and pdf version of the manual. Can you please point out where I can find the complete list for Carlson Survey commands? I want to print it out and keep it next to me. The Customize command did gave access to the individual commands. That helped.

Below is the screenshot of the list of commands for IntelliCAD that I got from IntelliCAD online help.

Thank you so much!

I don't believe a compact yet comprehensive list exists as there are hundreds of commands (by my count, not including those found in the G&G menus) that exist in Carlson Survey. If you really want this list, please post back here. It'd take some doing but I should be able to assemble the list by pulling it from the underlying menu file.

Aloha, Ladd:
That is a very generous offer from you!! I think many new explorers of Carlson Survey will benefit. I don't think C&G is needed--at least for me. From a little bit I figured out... C&G is simply a legacy commands still available to those used to it--right?

If you have an automated way of generating the command list or if it doesn't take to much of your time...I would love to take you up on this offer! Commonly used commands will useful to begin with. I can always add more to it on the go.

Thanks again Ladd!

I've created two flavors of the Carlson Survey 2015 (for IntelliCAD) commands into two PDF files and have made the zipped file available for download through May 31, 2015, at:

http://update.carlsonsw.com/upload/file.php?id=11344&ps=5ooj8jcqlt

One of the documents is a 24-page "condensed" report with command names and key-ins grouped as they appear in the menus.

The second document is a 37-page "full" report that also includes any available help-string information for the given command.

I hope one of these is what you are/were seeking.

Aloha, Ladd: This was exactly what I was looking for!!
Thank you so much!

There is an ancient saying...
"There are men who never deny a request, even in his dreams. Begging from them is the same as giving."
You are one of these men! There are many on this site who never get tired helping others. That why this forum is very special! :good:
