I have Carlson Survey OEM 2015, I have drawings that were created with Civil 3D. When I open them all I can see is big boxes. I have DWG TrueView, and have tried converting the drawings with no success. Thank you for any help.
It's likely a special object made in C3D. Such as a surface, alignment, etc. Try emailing your source to clean up the drawing, getting specialized files in xml format if needed. You need a vanilla cad format drawing and not a c3d drawing from them.
Visit Autodesk.com and try to load the object enabler for C3D. I'm not sure that the OEM version of AutoCAD can load it, but if it can that will solve your issue.
When I try to install it does not show Carlson as an option, only shows DWG TrueView. Is there a specific way to install the object enabler?
I run plain AutoCAD 2013 with Carlson over the top. When I run the installer for the enabler I get options for True-view, Plain AutoCAD, and I believe Carlson as well.
I've never run the OEM version so if there's a workaround I don't know it. Hopefully one of the OEM gurus will speak up.
Try having the original draftsman EXPORT a drawing as opposed to a saveas. I had a buddy do that for me, and it made a huge difference. As I understand it, it "dumbs down" the C3D objects so you can see them, at least it did in my drawing.
