I use the leader command all the time ("LEA") in Carlson (v. 2015 Standalone). But this may be the standard AutoCAD Leader command, it has been so long since I used autoCAD. The Carlson leader command (LDR) I do not like because the line/leader does not move with the text later.?ÿ
The default for a leader (LEA) is to put the text above the line and justify the text "top right", like so:
Then I go to properties (Or us the match properties) and change it to the way I like it, with the text centered on the leader and justified as "middle right", like so:
Is there a way to save me some time and set the default for the LEA command? Any help would be appreciated.?ÿ
Carlson is not your CAD engine, AutoCad is.?ÿ I've been using Carlson since about 2006 with AutoCad as the CAD engine.
I starter using AutoCad when release 10 was new back in the DOS days and still manually type in AutoCad commands for everything instead of using icons.
I miss using Carlson for calculations.?ÿ It was more point-friendly IMO.?ÿ?ÿ
I think you are using Intelicad Engine.
DIMSTYLE -> FIT TAB -> TEXT PLACEMENT "BESIDE THE DIMENSION LINE"
when you start with LEA, pick start and one end (no more), then enter, and input text. Now move text and leader will adjust the way you have shown.
watching with interest...

Tried that, and no luck. Thank you for the clue.
I am defiantly using AutoCAD version of Carlson. I wouldn't know intelicad if it ran me over.?ÿ

@ppm The only way I know of to make modifications to the Carlson Survey OEM key-in options is/was discussed at:
If you want to use the AutoCAD OEM LEA command to be the desired routine (as opposed to the Carlson LDR command), the simplest approach would/could be to use the LEA command as a keyin.
I have, however, relayed the suggestion to the Carlson product development team to allow the Carlson LDR command to have it's leader tail react to the change in position of the placed leader text.
I hope this information helps.
Why don't you try using a Multileader object for labelling? The leaders follow the text when you move it, and you can easily create a new Multileader object from Text or Mtext using the Carlson command "movetxt". As the name implies, you can have more than one leader coming off the text, if you wish.
Did you try LEADERSTYLE command for setting your style and which style you want as your current style? This is the AutoCAD command for setting the styles. I do not have Carlson and have never used it, so not sure if this command works in Carlson.
