I had entertained the idea of getting Carlson on my PC, and it will probably happen.

I currently have Eagle Point 2000, which wasn't cheap, but they no longer will migrate it to a new machine, which effectively sticks me with an old desktop and their refusal is the reason I'll no longer look to them for software purchases.

But I've been told that to run Carlson on my Leica RX1250 would be an awful solution. I currently run my GPS and Leica total station with the Leica software. It's OK, but it could be better. Perpendicular offset is a pain, and rotating and translating is harrowing.

Are any of you running Carlson on a RX1250, and if so, how do you like it?

Trade your Leica DC for an Allegro. SurvCE on Allegro is solid, has been for years.

We currently have a used smart rover with Carlson on the RX1250 in our trade-in inventory. I would make you a deal on the RX or the entire rover if you were interested. The RX was just reconditioned including a new screen. The rest of the system is in fairly rough shape, but has glonass and is cheap. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you an exact price, but I know off the top of my head it would be under $5,000. We could probably send it to you on demo if you wanted to try it. I would also entertain taking your controller on trade as I mainly keep this one around to use with loading FW on 1200's.

Kevin,

Just out of curiosity, is the 5K for just the RX or the whole rover?

Whole rover. It has an AT&T Modem. The $700 +/- "clip" that holds the modem to the RX and pole is in bad shape. I can get an exact price Monday and pictures if anyone is interested. My email is [email protected] if you would like to send your email to me, I will send pictures and details.

Will the Allegro run my Leica 1205 Total Station?

Definitively.

Allegro/SurvCE/1200 is very popular (although aging) set-up. Call anyone at FLT Systems in Florida, they will answer questions that you may have.

It will run a 1205 total station if the extended geocom option has been purchased.

An Allegro will not run a smart rover.
