I am using Carlson 2014.
On this particular project, using MA cord's, I have input a record plan and then when I try to use alignment to "fit" it to the monuments the lines all shrink by about 12%. A record line of 175' between to found monuments that just happen to measure 175' on the ground becomes 155' long when using alignment.

I verified that the Z cords were at zero and tried aligning to the points, no luck. I then drew a line between the traverse location of the monuments, making sure it was at elevation zero, no luck, same error.

I am only using the two points and I do say "No" when asked if I want to scale the figure to fit. (No is the default option anyway)

I have tried this numerous times with the same result. (I am not crazy, I have tried several options and not the same one over and over)

Is this a result of working with the coord's being so large? I have noticed problems with line types when I work in MA coords.

Thanks,

Dtp

PS I have tried it using just one record line and the same problem persists.

PPS I just discovered that the slope distance is coming out at 175' but the horizontal distance is 155.56'..... Where do I turn that off?

3D2D will turn your 3d items into 2d

If your HZ distance is 155 then you are not matching the 175' record. Something strange is afoot.

I rarely rely on ALIGN to move property lines. I prefer ROTATE and MOVE as I would not want to inadvertently SCALE.

You don't have a weird UCS active, do you? Make sure you only have World coordinates turned on.

Not on purpose, Peter. I checked and it is set to World.
