Gday,
Just wanted to raise an issue im finding with Carlson2013/Icad7.2 with XP machines.
The problem seems to be after abour the 10th time of open field/survey all the toolbars are gone. No worries i open cui and reset and then appear again. but after closing down & reopening them they disappear again.
If i create a new profile and set as current i get the same result as above.
If i delete the hkeycusoftware***toolbars registry key i get the same result as above.
If i edit the sjcstart.ini file and change profile target, you guessed it i get the same result again. Has anyone else had this issue as its happened now to all my XP toughbook fleet (Around 8 Machines) and it starting to p!$$ me off big time. Doesnt happen with Windows 7 just XP.
I happened to notice some registry strings that didnt match the scjstart.ini file.
IE, HKEY_USERSS-I-DSoftwareCarlson SoftwareIntelliCAD 7.2 ProfessionalProfilesCarlson2013Config == String[ROAMABLEROOTPREFIX](C:Documents and SettingssomewindowsuserApplication DataCarlson SoftwareIntelliCAD7.2). Now we dont have folders as such and its actually called ICad7 in the %appdata% of the users Carlson folder.
In the scjstart.ini file it declares a variable of (RoamableUserFolder=%APPDATA%Carlson SoftwareCarlson2013ICAD7USER) so i assume the prefix is just the useable profile similar to how AutoCAd assigns its own roaming profile variables.
Could little things such as this be causing the issue and why does it have to pull everything from the "All Users" profile. If i login as user1 and change the profile target using the carlson_config/startup to say CarlsonSV2013 and then user2 starts up Carlson, then user2 is going to getv the user1 profile because it calls the "All Users" scjstart.ini file when it starts and declares(Profile=%profileisethere as user1%). You can see why it can be hard to Administer this with 3 users using the one config file.
Any thoughts?????

Sorry mate
No worries. Categories are important, especially with surveying-specific topics, as choosing the right category gets you a much larger audience. 🙂

Do you have full administrator privileges to your computer? If you have the ability to delete a Registry key, you should have the proper permissions to write a key but I have to ask.
I dispatched an inquiry into the Carlson Technical Support Staff who suggested you download and install the recent Carlson 2013 update available at http://www.carlsonsw.com/support/software-downloads/?product=Carlson&version=2013 to see if that has any bearing on the problem.
If you have the current build installed and continue to experience the problem, the best course of action would be to contact the Carlson Technical Support staff at 606-564-5028 to see if they can assist you further.
Yeh im the System Administrator for this network so i definitely have admin rights, i have been contacted by a bloke at Carlson. This is the latest patch and was happening even with the last build 814.
Some of the fixes i mentioned above have worked on most machines but there is 1 wich refuses to work at all, hopefully he would be getting a new machine ASAP.
Just note im not a surveyor just the SysAdmin/Support officer. I have come to know a lot about surveying and Carlson over the last year lol.
Anyway thanks for the feedback mate.
