I really like this printer. It's not perfect, but it was a very good purchase for the price. I got it on special for $199 about 2 years ago.

I had been buying the Brother brand ink cartridges, but they didn't seem to last as long as they should... Even the High Yield cartridges.

They were a little pricey too. About $47 for 2 High Yield cartridges at Office Max. And every one that I had bought had left a small streak on my word processing documents.

Well, I see that I can get the Brother LC65 Innobella™ High Yield Black Ink Cartridge - LC65HYBK from Buy.com for about $25.

But why I am really posting is that I got Brother knock off cartridges at Buy.com for about $8 each, and the printing is actually BETTER!!

So, if you have one of these machines, you may want to consider trying the cheaper ink, it works well for me!!

Carl

Thanks for the tip.
I wish you mentioned it yesterday. I bought the 3-pack color & 1 Black for about $80 last night.

Looks like I'll be switching jobbers.

Sorry about that. I just jammed the black one yesterday, and noticed on the word document today. They have the color ones at buy.com also. I just hope they don't gum up the machine. 😛

If only I knew someone with one of those machines. Hummmm. Wait a minute, there is one sitting about 3 feet from me. 😀

Thanks Carl. Some day soon when you decide to take a day trip south, let me know and I'll buy you a BBQ lunch.

Have a great weekend.

BEST DEAL -

Get the re-fillable cartridges. Got mine from EBAY or http://stores.ebay.com/buyinknow123 and 4 bottles of ink. Simple to refill. Pop out the rubber plug, insert bottle tip into cartridge, squeeze bottle, pop in rubber plug...Done. Best money I've spent on a printer, Better print and scan quality than my HP. And wireless. Did I mention that I loved this printer?

Every single person I had ever talked to said that re-fillable ink would just not work with CAD applications... just totally bad luck with them.

It's good to see that someone has had a good experience doing it. Thanks for the info.
