Message me your contact info...I'm putting a proposal together for a transmission project in your backyard that's going to have a LiDAR scope.

Curiosity abounds.?ÿ Is that a hydroelectric plant on the Bull Run River at the end of one red line?

FYI only.?ÿ Noticed a Cherryville in the area.?ÿ We have a Cherryvale.?ÿ For several decades the high school there used a mascot name labeling them as the Cherryvale Cherries.?ÿ Eventually, they wised up and became the Chargers.

@holy-cow Given the client and the scope of work, one would assume so.?ÿ The last proposal I put together for this client group was the 22 mile onshore connection to the closest powerplant from an offshore wind farm.?ÿ I actually have a proposal in the queue for a wind project in Cloud and Mitchell Counties, KS.?ÿ?ÿ

@james-fleming FYI, we have been known to travel 🙂 One plane is in California this week. Last year we did acquestion in MI, CO and UT and a couple weeks ago MT. Maybe not all projects are suitable, depends on size to mobilization costs, but you never know. MI project was 2-3 days acquisition IIRC and penciled to send a flight crew from Portland, OR vs us hiring a contractor there based on quotes we received.

@dougie?ÿ

It's my understanding there are far too many industrial wind turbines in that area.?ÿ The Cloud County Community College in Concordia has a very active program in training workers for that industry.?ÿ The cooperate with some other schools around the State so that one can learn the skills without going to Concordia.?ÿ We have had a couple of high school students receive credits from CCCC.

The ones built in the past couple of years in my county are doing nothing.?ÿ NOTHING.?ÿ Apparently, the substation that had to be built to accommodate them blew up or something and won't be repaired for up to a year.?ÿ The land owners who had counted their eggs before they hatched are hopping mad and getting deeper in debt every day.

FYI, we have been known to travel ????

Same...

I mostly work on electric & gas T&D east from LA, AK, MO, IA & MN (inclusive) as well as solar and wind nationwide.?ÿ This Oregon opportunity just fell in my lap because the client reached out to me and the Utilities West team was busy.

I'll make sure the guys who usually handle those projects have your contact info (as well as our oil & gas team who are the bulk of the company); I think we're licensed to work in 44 +/- states?ÿ?ÿ

@holy-cow?ÿ

No, it is Portland's water supply.?ÿ There was an early 1900's hydro project that utilized a diversion system along Bull Run but that was decommissioned over a decade ago.?ÿ Now it is, or will be, a museum.
