Two shots and two boosters. Very minor sore arm 3 times, nothing at all with the other.
3 shots so far. Each one left me very fatigued and run down for a day.
Lady in my office just got back to work. She was out a full week with Covid. She was up to date on the shots and booster. Makes me wonder how bad it might have been for her without the shots.
I've had 4 Pfizer now.?ÿ Just sore arm overnite. SWMBO had 2 J&J no ill effects.?ÿ She's a rabid masker.?ÿ Got Covid anyway after not masking for 2 hrs in a public venue.?ÿ I thought I was gonna lose her, or at least lose her to an ICU for a while - she was SICK.?ÿ Dr. said get an oximeter, if blood ox goes below 90, go to emergency.?ÿ I bought one, stuck it on her finger, reads 80.?ÿ Calls Dr, off we go to ER.?ÿ ER Doc takes her oxygen, 94. WTF? We were reading the thing backwards, PULSE was 80, ox was 94.?ÿ Dr. gave her scrip for Paxlovid, she improved overnite.
We live closely together, spending hours each day within a couple of feet of each other.?ÿ She was not a considerate cougher; I could practically see the plume of sickness leaving her mouth.?ÿ A week after she tested pos, I tested neg.?ÿ What's up with that?
@fairbanksls Really? Tell me what the questionable track record is for the vaccine.
@lurker?ÿ
Vaccinated people are still dying, a spreading the disease and there are side effects being reported.?ÿ I know someone in his mid forties who had a heart attack within 24 hours of receiving it with no previous history of a heart condition.?ÿ That raises questions for me and he told me it did for his doctors.
@fairbanksls So the level of mitigation the vaccine provides is of no value because it is not 100% effective? Of course there will be people who have heart attacks after they receive the vaccine. People have heart attacks. This anecdotal evidence does not create a questionable track record. The track record is well documented and actually not questionable at all. There are millions of data points (people who have taken the vaccine) that provide an accurate picture.
@lurker?ÿ
I don't equate questionable with no value.?ÿ I ask lots of questions with the idea of adding value to my decisions.?ÿ?ÿ
?ÿ
questionable
See the graph at my link above for an example of statistics showing benefit of vaccination.
Anecdotes get passed around but are not data. People have heart attacks at some average rate for their age. A guy has a heart attack after vaccination and the news circulates. A guy has a heart attack the day after doing any number of other things and nobody tries to associate those.
The question to be addressed by statistics is whether the rate of events after vaccination is greater than the average?ÿ before. One anecdote is not evidence.
I schedule the day after off work out of an abundance of caution and have not regretted it.?ÿ
My bass player friend came down with 5 separate autoimmune diseases including skin falling off the top of his head like he'd been scalped and he is a Pfizer vaccine guy.?ÿ It has been an open wound for maybe a couple months so far and not a lot of fun for him.?ÿ Hard to lay your head on a pillow at night on an open wound.
@tom-bushel
Sucks for your friend.?ÿ Did he know he was at risk for this type of reaction to the vaccine?
Got the second booster today (all 4 Moderna). Slightly Sore arm only.
The second shot made me feel a bit under the weather but that??s it. The other 3 shots pretty much no reaction.
The first Shingrix made me sick. 2nd sore arm.
I appreciate y'all leading the way in this grand clinical trial.?ÿ Data you're helping collect may sway me that direction in 3-5 years.?ÿ Or not.
