I tell you what, why do people do this. Never in my life would I do this to somebody that may be just a little better off or more accurately just deeper in debt.
I bought a brand new 2015 Ford Explorer limited about three months ago. I'm 42 years old and this is the first brand new vehicle I have ever owned. I always have bought used. Anyway it now has 2,800 miles on it and today was the SECOND TIME it has been keyed in the Walmart parking lot. I would go to the cops but they have no interest in messing with my petty problem. Wish I could catch the SOB's. I'd key something of theirs. I don't know what cause I'd have to pick out the nicest thing they owned. Which is what they are doing to me!
The first damage was $450. I have a $500 deductible so I'm about to go John Francis on #%$$#^$ somebody!!
Next time instead of red I'm going with white. At least if they key my white vehicle I won't know it. @#$%#%%^%^&**$%&^
I never go to Walmart in my new vehicle.
Keep a wreck around for that.
The Walmart parking lot has the stupidest people on Earth in it. I avoid their parking lot, avoiding the idiots in old beater cars who don't care is a challenge.
We bought new Flex SEL. The Limited was nice but it was listed at another 10k. The main difference is leather seats and power folding seats, there may be a few other things. I could live without those things. The car was enough as it is.

Judging from my experience in Walmart parking lots, you'd probably just be giving them an upgrade. Every one I've ever been to is a freak show.

There was a helper that wore this giant belt buckle that was constantly scratching the paint off my truck. I pointed that out to him and apparently he must not have cared so he is no longer a helper.
Those buggies at Walmart do their damage plus the narrow parking lanes make many shoppers have to squeeze in and out between cars.
The truck is full of tool boxes and bout 15yrs ago I had to move my vehicle to be able to have enough room to stuff a 32in TV into the front seat.
Gotta walk farther, it is best to park in areas that nobody parks. I usually have a 10ft trailer in tow and park there often.
Wait until you get to that place in the road that is overgrown and if you can just make it thru there it will save you miles and hours of not having to go another way. 😉
We bought a Flex SEL AWD about one year ago.
Consistent 21 MPG.
Not as comfortable on road trips as the 2000 Impala was, but a decent
car.
I like it a lot.
The back seat is more comfortable than the front seat.

Way back in 1961 my dad made the mistake of buying a new pickup. No one living on a farm should ever own a new pickup. He had it less than six months before backing out of the garage with the tail gate down directly into the power pole with our electric meter. Best thing that could ever happen. The "new" was off of it so we could start using it like it was intended to be used.
I'll trade you my 2005 Toyota Tundra (4x4) with about 130K miles and still ticking like a clock. I figure they'll bury me in it.
Then again, I'm done with buying trucks, so it's even Steven. I've got my truck, a beater '94 jeep with 140K, a quad that hauls my fat arse around, a little enclosed trailer for my quad, and pretty good walking skills for a slimming down geezer at 60 (almost into my old 36" jeans - almost).

Those parking lots have 24/7 security cameras.
If you know the time/date & where you were parked it should be simple to figure it out.

They do have security cameras, just not all of them work. I was doing a survey for a WalMart parking lot and had the GPS base set within view of what I thought were 2 cameras. After the base was stolen, my fault for not leaving someone there, I asked to review the security tapes. Lost prevention said only one of the two cameras worked, and the other just showed a portion of the truck.
So I wouldn't rely on Wal-Mart's security system.

Been to a Walmart twice.
The second time to make certain that what I saw and learned about how staff are treated on the first visit, would make it the last time.
And it has been so.
When a new one was proposed by a development organization, fortunately I knew the ties to Walmart and did not reply even when asked.
Store was held up incomplete over a winter as it appeared that the brighter lights don't realize you cannot build over organic materials.

Hey Sergeant, mine is a 6x8 with a side door, and a drop down rear door to get my quad in and out with basically a flip of the wrist. All the tie down's you'd ever need. It was a cheapy even new ($2K or so), I thinks it's "All State" or "All Star" or something with a USA flag/shield symbol logo on it. I shopped around and ended up driving to Vegas to save about $400 from the local guys here.
Empty it weighs about 700 lbs, put a 500 lb quad in it, and my beater jeep still will pull it - but it is a strain. My truck doesn't even know it's there, even if I max it out with SWMBO moving stuff. Lights still work, tires are good, and it hooks up or drops off in about 2 minutes. I've had it about 7 yrs now and it's not for sale. (maybe....;-) )
