Howdy, folks.
I'm Todd Horton, and I have the privilege of teaching land surveying full-time at Parkland College in Champaign, IL. Licensed only in Illinois, but have been honored to provide continuing education seminars for surveyors in 42 states.
More and more folks I meet in my travels these days are talking about SurveyorConnect.com. Poking around here tonight, I can see why. Great resource! Glad to be here. Good to see some familiar names too.

Welcome, Todd. Please jump right in, the water's fine and the dirt needs stirred.
Welcome aboard Todd.
Welcome and spread the word to your students! B-)
Welcome Todd.
Wouldn't happen to have any kin from Taylorville would you? I knew some Hortons there.
My baby brother lives in your neck of the woods and is director of data services at UofI.
Wouldn't be surprised if you have crossed paths or know some of the same people.
E.
Glad to have you here.
I was at your seminar in Centralia last fall. Good stuff.
Welcome Todd, Always glad to have more opinions in the pool. Thanks for doing what you do. The choice of academia can be a thankless one at times. Cheers.

That is encouraging news. It's always nice to hear about the word getting out. Thank you for sharing.

I still refer fellows to BeerLeg... And tell them that if they can't figure it out, they have to buy the next round.

All my Horton kin have left Illinois (smarter'n me) or live in SoCal. Could be I've heard your brother's name. Champaign County isn't all that big.

My most requested seminars are "Best Practices in GNSS Surveying" and "State Plane Coordinate Systems for GNSS Users". Started a new one last year at the request of Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors called "Relative Positional Precision Explained in Everyday Language". Pretty excited about that one - seems to be an widely misunderstood topic. Have presented on Professional Ethics as well.

I have attended all three seminars mentioned above. All three were well worth attending. The "Relative Positional Precision Explained in Everyday Language" really helped me wrap my head around the concept.
Todd is a great presenter, and even better, is a pretty nice guy as well. Glad he is visiting here now.

Cool.
Do you ever come to Indiana?
Can you do PE hours too?

His last name is "Slifer" - not at all common. Not a name you'd likely forget if you ever crossed paths.

Yes, sir, I do. Spoke in Indianapolis under the Half Moon Seminars banner in May. Had PLS and PE participants. Would welcome a chance to speak for an ISPLS event.
