Hello to All:
Hope I am posting this "Introduce Yourself" in the correct place. Been watching the forum for some time. There are a lot of surveyors around the country (world?) with a lot of valuable information handing out for free. Way-to-go. I am an old fart from the old school. Was active and registered in my working days in Indiana and Kentucky. Am now retired and living in Florida. I continue to follow the new surveying techniques, equipment, etc. even though not using it. Thanks again to all for your input as you answer questions (especially, for the new guys/gals just coming in to the profession. It is a notable profession.

Paden is correct, I'm an old school, old fart (67) surveyor in Sanford, Office in Altamonte Springs. In business for almost 30 years, plan on retiring when I "croak the bucket".
What's great about this site is I enjoy reading all the post's by the "Young Guns" and their experiences with all the emerging technology. I don't understand half of it but it's cool to read. 😎

Mostly construction stakeout; some property surveys; worked in a lot of different environments. Since we were a consulting company, including structural, did some plant surveys (inside and outside). We were track engineers at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Always enjoyed going down there.

I've done a horsetrack or two, moto-x and dragstrips...but no racetracks. I can relate to your remark "a lot of different environments". Me too. With almost fifty years in the profession I would be hard pressed to write them all down...They say they are three signs of old age. The first is memory loss...and I can't remember the other two. 😉

Welcome Jomax! Some new tools, some old tools, but always old school myself. I'm up the coast a bit from you in NC...... less gators.
